Java Runtime Environment is very useful to perform some applications that can only be run with this complement. For example: chatting, watching trailers, etc.
Java Runtime Environment has a Java virtual machine and all the necessary stuff to run these applications.
The Virtual Machine, the libraries to work with .Class files, and the applications’ runner can be easily installed. This provides the user with the necessary environment to make the applications developed in Java language work. It manages very well the API's functionalities.
Nowadays, many programs in the market include Java technology, there are also web pages devoted to offer users access to games developed with this language.
The most popular Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc.) work with Java technology, because a lot of web pages available in the market have certain Java components which are needed to see images or some kind of animation in the page.
