Java SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 14 keeps popping up wanting me to download but nothing happens. How do I get rid of it? As soon as I open the Internet it starts and won't quit. Any tips?

You can disable update checking from the Java section found on the Control Panel of your computer. Go to Control Panel and click on Java then select the Updates tab. Uncheck the "Check for Updates Automatically" and then select Never. All the prompts or update will disappear.
I have Java SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 18 automatically installed. Since then, I get a system question about User Account Control every time I switch homepage. How can I fix this?

In order to get rid of this pop up, you can deactivate User Account Control option. This can be done by going to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > click on Turn User Account Control on or off. In the new opened window, bring the slider to bottom and click OK. This should prevent the UAC pop ups from appearing.
An applet is small program that is written in Java and it's designed to be placed on a web page. Applets cannot be consider full applications because they usually have one or two features and are created to be very accessible.
To create an applet, you need a development environment (a program to write code, a compiler to transform and so on). To learn more about this issue, I suggest you check the following website where you will find examples with explanations, tips and more.
